Charlie
So, where were you this past Sunday?

Did you happen to end up in downtown Portland at the annual Shamrock Run? This was the 30th anniversary of the event, the local start of the 'run season.' A record crowd showed up to participate, in spite of the chill in the morning air. After all, both runners and walkers were promised a hot bowl of chowder and beverage (which meant a beer for many) after finishing up!

Members of the Portland Rose Festival Foundation Staff joined with PRFF Board Members (and some spouses, too) -- to spread the word about the festival's brand new event: The Regence Grand Floral Walk

Several people entered the run. Others entered the walk. A third group were there to hand out our information flyers -- and stand by to cheer on running and walking friends!

  06-07-08

That's the date to remember, as the backs of our shirts proudly proclaim! On parade day, walkers will join together to move along either the full four-mile route, or a shorter two-mile version -- in front of the 500,000 plus parade-viewing crowd.

It's always exciting to announce a new event, but what could be more exciting than this one? Hey, I'd love to be there walking myself -- if I didn't have a parade to help put on... (smile)

So, where will YOU be on June 7, 2008? Here's your a chance to be part of the first-ever Regence Grand Floral Walk. Sound like fun?

You better believe it!
